Come early to the Elk Creek CDE and take advantage of two outstandingclinics, with immediate application to the upcoming competition.

Sara Schmitt will present the first half of the clinic, targeted to dressage.

Participants will gather in the Preliminary Dressage Arena.  Sara will begin with the warm-up, stressing the importance of understanding how much warm-up the individual horse(s) requires.  She will emphasize effectively walking the dressage test, focusing on clues to accuracy. Developing an awareness of footing and terrain and their effect on how the horse and driver can best handle the course will also be covered.

 

Suzy Stafford will conduct the second half of the clinic, focused on

the cones.  Participants will move to the cones course. Suzy will open with the importance of walking the course and will move to learning to drive the course with speed and accuracy, at the driver’s level.

 

Both clinicians are well recognized as successful advanced drivers.

This clinic should be extremely valuable to competitors in the Elk Creek CDE.  It presents a wonderful opportunity to learn from the experts, just prior to competition, on the grounds of the competition!  

 

    The two- part clinic will be held on Friday, June 12, beginning at 9:00 a.m. in the Preliminary Dressage Ring.  The second half of the clinic will meet at the Cones Course at 10:30.
